Streets Superintendent

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the administrative oversight, visioning, leadership, planning, coordinating and control of the Streets Division; to ensure essential services are provided to maintain the public infrastructure to provide for public safety, health, and welfare. This position is required to manage projects in the field.

The Streets Superintendent oversees the Streets Division, ensuring that essential services are provided to maintain the public infrastructure. This includes managing projects in the field and providing leadership and direction to staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Streets Division, ensuring essential services are provided to maintain the public infrastructure.
• Manage projects in the field, including planning, coordinating, and controlling activities.
• Provide leadership and direction to staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Ensure the Streets Division meets all regulatory requirements and maintains high standards of service.

Requirements

• Eight (8) years’ work experience in public works.
• Five (5) years of directly related progressively responsible supervisory experience.
• A combination of higher education for experience may be considered.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• An associate degree in Engineering, construction management, or a closely related field preferred.
• A Preferred Class B CDL driver’s license.

Skills

• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of public works regulations and best practices.
