Responsibilities
- Aid the General Superintendent in developing, updating, modifying, and maintaining the project schedule.
- Ensure the implementation and continuous maintenance of the corporate safety program requirements.
- Be familiar with material delivery deadlines and communicate them to the project superintendent.
- Attend weekly foreman and superintendent meetings.
- Prepare daily construction reports in a thorough and timely manner.
- Understand and ensure risk controls are properly established and maintained.
- Attend weekly meetings with the project team for project status updates and issue notifications.
- Establish and maintain a document control system to ensure work complies with design documentation and approved shop drawings.
- Communicate issues requiring designer information to the project manager for issuing RFI's.
- Prepare monthly status reports for submission to the client.
- Affirm the required permits and approvals from jurisdictional agencies are secured, posted, and renewed as needed.
- Identify and address issues of constructability or lack of scope during the preconstruction phase.
- Participate in the development and final review of scope, buy-out, and schedule.
- Research, review, and address any owner, landlord, city/state requirements or procedures to prevent project delays, ensure safety, and/or satisfy client satisfaction.
- Maintain and review the punch list process to ensure all items are addressed and completed promptly.
Qualifications and Skills
- Engineering, Construction Management, or related Bachelor's degree, or equivalent years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements/jurisdictions, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings, and other documents.
- NYC Buildings Construction Superintendent License preferred.
- 10-Hour OSHA and 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certificate.
- 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Certificate.
- Computer proficiency: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Timberline.
Salary Information
To the extent this position is performed in New York City, the annual salary range for this role is $160,000 - $220,000. Note: The compensation range and description reflect the Company's good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as position tier, geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skills.
