Strategy & Insights Manager
About the role
We are looking for a Strategy & Insights Manager to build and lead the Strategy & Insights capability. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this position translates data into clear, actionable recommendations that drive business performance. As a trusted partner to senior leadership, you will identify and scope analytical and research initiatives to build a holistic understanding of consumers, market dynamics, and performance drivers, including macro, socio-economic trends and the competitive landscape. You will support strategic projects, scenario planning, and stakeholder decision making through a fact-based, insight-led perspective delivered in a timely and cost-effective way. You will proactively identify opportunities where better data, analysis, or insights can unlock business value.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of business performance drivers, including key KPIs, levers, and underlying trends
- Scope and manage quantitative and qualitative studies to generate deep consumer, market, and competitive insights – with clear focus on business application
- Integrate internal and external data sources (including macro-economic data) into coherent, actionable insights
- Develop and embed KPIs, metrics, reports, and dashboards to track and explain business and project performance
- Partner with business stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Marketing, IT) to translate insights into actions and decisions
- Actively challenge and refine hypotheses by asking the right questions – going beyond “what” into “why” and “so what”
- Support building S&I capability and professionalism across the organization, promoting fact-based decision making
- Contribute to shaping data processes, data flow, and data standards to ensure consistency and usability
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Market Research, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or another quantitative discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Consumer Insights, Analytics, Market Intelligence, or a related field, either agency-side or client-side
- Preferably in the retail/hospitality industry in a multinational environment
Qualifications
- Strong curiosity and critical thinking – natural drive to understand what sits behind performance and trends
- Ability to move from data to insight to action – not just analysis, but clear business recommendations
- Strong analytical skills across quantitative and qualitative methods, with ability to synthesize complex information
- Proven capability to translate insights into business impact (planning, forecasting, performance improvement)
- Comfortable working in environments where answers are not obvious and need to be built through exploration
- Strong communication skills – ability to present insights in a clear, concise, and compelling way for senior stakeholders
- High ownership mindset – self-driven, accountable, and proactive in identifying opportunities and issues
- Strong collaboration skills, especially cross-functionally
