The Job
The Strategy Director is a master craftsperson, visionary leader, and systems thinker who actively shapes and delivers high-impact work across all accounts. This role goes beyond setting direction and requires being deeply embedded in the work, partnering with teams to develop, refine, and execute strategic thinking that drives measurable results.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategic vision for high-value programs, translating brand identity, cultural insights, and data into clear, actionable plans while contributing directly to the output.
- Play a critical role in integrating strategy with creative, media, and client teams, rolling up your sleeves to push ideas further, solve complex problems, and elevate the quality of deliverables.
- Mentor and develop other strategists, build scalable frameworks, and ensure that innovative thinking is not only conceived, but successfully brought to life and delivers real impact.
- Lead strategic thinking across clients and internal teams.
- Serve as the strategic lead on key accounts and multidisciplinary initiatives.
- Develop brand platforms, campaign strategies, and content ecosystems that drive business impact.
- Bring strong retail strategy experience, applying it to inform and strengthen brand and campaign work.
- Translate research and insights into compelling briefs and messaging strategies.
- Align creative, performance, and client teams around shared goals and strategic direction.
- Build systems that support strategy collaboration and cross-disciplinary alignment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure strategic cohesion and execution.
- Lead strategic storytelling for new business efforts, quarterly planning, and client presentations.
- Identify gaps and opportunities to improve strategy processes, frameworks, and deliverables.
- Ensure insights and measurement are integrated across planning, execution, and reporting cycles.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in brand, content, retail, or communications strategy.
- 3 - 5+ years of experience managing or mentoring strategic talent.
- Proven success delivering strategy across brand, campaign, content, and digital performance.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
