About the role
We’re looking for a Strategy and Insights Manager to support our US business. In this role you will help us create a stronger future for our hair brands across hair color, care, styling and nail categories. Reporting to the Sr Director of Strategy & Insights and supporting the USA country leadership team, you will have a unique opportunity to identify local customer, consumer and shopper insights and turn them into strategic plans that drive growth across our portfolio of brands and channels.
Responsibilities
- Identify local consumer, shopper, category and market insights and leverage them to inform strategic decision making, guide local brand building and support customer engagements
- Become a trusted strategic partner to US leadership team by bringing the voice of the consumer & shopper to the table
- Lead key strategic projects that support top business priorities for the US President and Leadership Team
- Ensure that the voice of the US shopper and local channel / customer nuances are reflected in global research and strategic efforts
- Conduct US-driven primary research that enables successful market approach for all US brands (e.g. shelf tests)
- Closely follow local trend evolution and provide input to the local and global marketing teams to inform innovation, brand and communication choices
- Support local annual planning cycle with category and shopper dynamics
- Provide local analytics and reporting to the US and global teams using Wella Co’s suite of tools and secondary data sources
- Work closely with cross-functional partners at all levels to ensure insights are embedded throughout the decision-making process
- Support sales team in the key customer pitches and ad-hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing, market research, communications, economics, business, or related fields (required)
- 4+ years of experience in consumer insights, strategy/consulting, market research or a similar field. CPG or beauty experience preferred but not required.
- Strategic thinking capabilities with demonstrated record of bringing a “strategy” to life.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to make complex issues simple for a range of audiences and seniorities.
- Strong analytical skills and a love for data and problem solving; proficiency in MS Excel
- Strong project management and prioritization skills
- Some knowledge of data providers (Nielsen, NPD, Numerator etc.) and market research techniques (including modern AI-led tools) preferred but not required.
