Strategic Sourcing Specialist
About the role
This role is responsible for leading global sourcing activities for components across our Home and Building Comfort Solutions businesses with a typical annual dollar buy of less than $50 million per year. The position drives procurement cost savings across company expenditures, identifies and implements tariff mitigation and source optimization strategies, and develops both short- and long-term sourcing plans for complex, high-impact, and high-risk categories.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s global manufacturing footprint, product portfolio, served markets, and the value proposition of each facility.
- Build deep category expertise, including all components within category spend, their applications, and their impact on final products.
- Monitor and analyze indexes related to your categories and global market trends to inform sourcing decisions and communicate insights to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Continuously research and track developments in the HVAC industry to strengthen decision-making and stakeholder discussions.
- Develop and execute a global sourcing strategy for assigned categories aligned with organizational goals.
- Present sourcing strategies and progress during annual roadmap reviews, outlining achievements and forward-looking plans (3–5 year horizon).
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, supply base improvement, and risk mitigation.
- Act as the primary liaison between Quality, Engineering, and manufacturing operations to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies and initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support productivity initiatives, engineering projects, and new product introductions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, including regular communication and performance management.
- Lead negotiations and manage contracts and commercial agreements to align with company objectives.
- Establish and execute a structured plan for supplier visits and internal engagement to maintain close collaboration.
- Deliver against financial targets, including achieving Material Cost Reduction (MCR) goals.
- Ensure continuity of supply by maintaining on-time delivery, quality standards, and appropriate inventory levels to support production needs.
- Manage supplier-related issues, including claims, rejections, returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
- Drive competitive sourcing processes through regular spend-analysis and supplier benchmarking.
- Develop and implement dual sourcing strategies and tariff mitigation plans to reduce risk and enhance supply resilience.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree, (Master’s Degree a plus) or an equivalent combination of education and working experience in the manufacturing industry.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing and Global procurement as a must.
- A person with a strong sense of Ownership, remarked reliability and quick response is needed in this position.
- Flexibility and creativeness in finding solutions under critical business situations is required.
- Experience in lean manufacturing, Kanban and supplier development is desired.
- Requires excellent negotiation abilities and strong analytical skills.
- Shows exceptional verbal and written communication skills including with executives or in international contexts.
- Requires knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control.
- Must have knowledge of economic principles and financial markets.
- Competent in computerized procurement systems.
- Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Power BI.

Pay
The starting salary range for this role and market is between $84,000 - $110,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
