Strategic Sourcing Manager

About the role

The Sourcing Manager develops, leads, and executes commodity sourcing strategies for local, regional, and national initiatives. This role identifies appropriate field resources, manages supplier relationships, and ensures contracting and procurement standards are maintained throughout the portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Interface with key internal and external clients to secure sponsorship, understand sourcing needs, perform market research, devise sourcing strategies, lead supplier selection processes (e.g., competitive bidding, partnership development, consolidation), and negotiate agreements.
• Develop sourcing strategies within assigned categories by analyzing spend, gathering business requirements, leading cross-functional teams, conducting market research, and creating a sourcing strategy.
• Execute sourcing strategies by identifying and leading cross-functional stakeholder teams, managing sourcing events (RFXs), performing business-related functions, and negotiating contracts.
• Manage supplier relationships, including developing and tracking key performance indicators, facilitating strategic supplier meetings, driving adherence to contractual agreements, and fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
• Partner with the operations team by providing management, detailed instruction, and continuous follow-up to support daily sourcing and supply chain activities.
• Proactively manage internal and external customer expectations and ensure contracting and procurement standards are maintained across business lines.
• Support service lines in budget preparation and management.
• Identify and lead field resources to execute initiatives and manage supplier relationships related to administrative and operational activities.
• Partner with clients and the Jones Lang LaSalle Facility Management team to drive immediate and sustained benefits.
• Assess and build annual sourcing initiatives with detailed service commodity strategies, including objectives, leveraged spend initiatives, and milestone timelines.
• Provide strategic thought leadership to identify additional cost and operational efficiencies.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement local and regional sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations with suppliers and the operations team.
• Conduct local and regional Preferred Supplier performance review meetings, manage supplier scorecards, contract compliance, and service obligations.
• Support e-commerce procurement initiatives, whether corporate or client-mandated.
• Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine the reasonableness of price and contractor capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
• MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of strategic sourcing experience for services or indirect categories (e.g., facilities).
