Strategic Sourcing Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team in Farmers Branch, TX. This is an onsite role with a schedule of Monday - Friday from 7am - 4pm. The ideal candidate has a can-do attitude, high integrity, and a growth mindset. You will lead a team and work closely with various levels of the organization to secure optimal quality, cost, and availability of products for our customers.

Hi-Line is a nationwide distributor of over 100,000+ industrial aftermarket products across industries like transportation, aviation, facilities maintenance, aerospace, medical, military, marine, power generation, manufacturing, and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with suppliers effectively in various ways including vendor scorecards.
• Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
• Partner with Product Manager to build and execute the full life cycle from adding new products to sunsetting discontinued products.
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, and supplier’s reputation.
• Respond to changing conditions in product supply as well as commodity and market trends affecting pricing and availability.
• Analyze current forecast process and give guidance to reset parameters on min/max levels.
• Perform daily/weekly tasks such as inventory purchases, part # set up/maintenance, discrepancy review, KPI reporting, etc.
• Build and maintain a list of multiple vendors for all SKUs.
• Identify and present opportunities for strategic purchases.
• Minimize back orders by using data to make proactive decisions.
• Lead buying team and own results.

Requirements

• Previous purchasing experience.
• Experience with 20k+ SKUs.
• Distribution experience preferred.
• Previous team management experience.
• Advanced knowledge in Excel.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral).
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Effective communication, persuasion, strategizing, and negotiation skills.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy and great organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Procurement Certifications preferred.
• Proficiency in ERP and inventory management software programs.
• Experience in industrial MRO products preferred.
