About the role

The Strategic Outbound Verification Supervisor is responsible for leading all outbound verification, shipping accuracy, inventory control, and compliance activities within the warehouse operation. This role ensures customer orders are shipped accurately, safely, and in compliance with company, regulatory, food safety, and customer requirements. The supervisor provides leadership to verification and warehouse personnel while driving operational excellence, inventory integrity, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position serves as a critical link between Warehousing, Transportation, Production, Quality, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to ensure flawless execution of outbound shipments and inventory management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a culture of safety throughout warehouse operations.
  • Conduct safety observations and enforce all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, GMPs, Food Safety regulations, ISO standards, C-TPAT requirements, and company SOPs.
  • Identify, investigate, and address food safety, quality, and compliance concerns.
  • Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure damage to products, equipment, and facilities is minimized through proper operational controls.
  • Lead all outbound verification processes to ensure customer shipments are accurate and complete.
  • Oversee shipping audits and validate order accuracy prior to product release.
  • Develop and maintain processes that improve shipment quality and reduce shipping errors.
  • Monitor shipping performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve service levels.
  • Direct workforce activities to achieve operational goals and maximum efficiency.
  • Apply effective communication, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary practices when necessary.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained in their primary responsibilities and cross-trained in related functions.
  • Lead by example and foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct audits of shipping processes, allergen storage locations, organic storage areas, access control procedures, and label change accuracy.
  • Ensure documentation and electronic records are completed accurately and maintained according to company requirements.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to investigate nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Support product inspections, verification activities, and process monitoring programs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of warehouse, logistics, shipping, inventory control, or distribution experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in a food, ingredient, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with shipping verification, inventory audits, quality systems, and warehouse management systems preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping processes.
  • Knowledge of GMP, Food Safety, OSHA, ISO, and related compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with barcode scanning systems and warehouse management software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Able to exercise sound judgment and make timely decisions.
  • Forklift certification or experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in warehouse and distribution environments.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as business needs require.
