Verification Specialist

Summary

Performs pre-registration and insurance verification functions for inpatients/outpatients to ensure the integrity of demographic and financial information. Communicates patient responsibilities or follows up with regional financial counselors. Notifies and communicates patient status and obtains authorization from payors.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient insurance information and processes pre-registration forms
• Communicates with regional financial counselors regarding patient responsibilities or follow-up
• Notifies patients and healthcare providers about status updates and authorization requirements
• Ensures appropriate communication and notification about clinical information needed for authorization from payors

Requirements

• One year experience preferred in wound care, burn care, surgery, or outpatient hospital experience
• Prior authorization experience
• Appeals and denial management experience
• Good communication skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and policies
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC
