Strategic Finance Manager
About the role
This role sits at the center of Decagon's most critical decisions, owning planning, stress-testing bets, and partnering directly with the co-founders and leadership team to allocate capital against our biggest opportunities.
This is an in-office role based in our San Francisco headquarters.
Responsibilities
Own our quarterly and annual planning cycle end-to-end, guiding overall company strategy, resource allocation, and decision-making
Build and own our financial model and unit economics framework
Partner cross-functionally with executives across key functions to ideate, support, and drive strategic initiatives
Drive accountability across the business by defining financial and operational KPIs, building dashboards, and identifying the right levers to accelerate growth and efficiency
Monitor key performance indicators, financial metrics, and cash flow; deliver timely reporting packages and insights on key business trends
Own materials for our Board meetings and serve as a key partner on future fundraising processes
Develop and build a scalable finance function that can support Decagon's hyper-growth
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, or a closely related role at a high-growth technology company
1–2 years of investment banking at a top-tier firm
Expert financial modeling skills — you can build from scratch, stress-test assumptions, and translate outputs into clear business narratives
Strong analytical instincts and the ability to distill complexity into structured frameworks and actionable recommendations
Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting to leadership
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority — you can get alignment across teams who don't report to you
High ownership mentality — you take initiative, drive projects to completion, and hold yourself to a high bar
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly
Proficiency in Google Sheets / Excel; experience with SQL or BI tools a strong plus
Qualifications
Experience working in B2B SaaS with familiarity with ARR-based business metrics
Familiarity with Accounting ERPs and financial planning tools
