Strategic Account Manager - Ohio Valley
This leadership role supports the women's health business unit (WHBU), focusing on growth ambitions related to the WH portfolio, particularly long-acting reversible contraception (LARC). The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will lead top-down Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) initiatives in women's health, contraception, and family planning, collaborating with Regional Directors, Market Access Leads, Regional Managers, Clinical Account Specialists (CAS), Clinical Training Program – Field Specialists, and Medical Science Liaisons to develop and implement account strategies.
Responsibilities
- IDN Relationship Development: Identify key stakeholders (e.g., Medical Director, C Suite) within assigned accounts and build relationships with Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), optimizing in-person engagements.
- Contracting Strategy: Identify contracting opportunities for assigned accounts. Lead the development and execution of contracting strategies and negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Account Planning: Demonstrate strategic thinking by understanding customer priorities and developing and maintaining comprehensive account plans. Conduct regular business reviews with key customers to assess performance, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with account team members and regional managers to align regional objectives and IDN strategies. Demonstrate an enterprise mindset by working with cross-functional stakeholders, supporting colleagues, and adopting new capabilities.
- Consultative Sales: Act as a consultative partner to IDN and/or organized customer accounts to identify goals and create long-term value through tailored solutions. Assess and educate customers on category best practices.
- Policy and Social Engagement: Maintain expertise in state/local/advocacy group and society dynamics, challenges, and opportunities, and their impact on assigned accounts.
- Sales Performance: Drive growth and performance of assigned accounts/IDNs/organized customers in compliance with all field policies.
- KOL Development: Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) within assigned IDNs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic account management, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct cost analysis and develop quality initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Expertise in contracting and negotiations, with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial agreements.
- Proven track record in managing Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and engage senior-level stakeholders.
- Experience leading and collaborating with internal account team members.
- Consultative approach to sales, identifying customer goals and creating value through tailored solutions.
- Strong understanding of compliance-related concepts, including laws and regulations governing sales activities.
- Located within territory and near a major airport (75% travel required).
- Valid driving license.

Pay
Annualized salary range for this position in the U.S. is $138,200.00 - $234,900.00.
