Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Strategic Account Manager is to grow the business and manage all commercial activities for the Defense business sector.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Make sales calls and presentations to potential and existing defense customers.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with current and prospective customers.
  • Understand the needs of customers and match Tecomet’s solutions.
  • Follow-up on sales opportunities.
  • Possess and follow up on leads regularly.
  • Develop sales proposals to gain new business.
  • Generate quote requests from customers and follow-up internally at Tecomet and with customers.
  • Work closely with each Tecomet site to respond to customer needs successfully and expeditiously.
  • Identify potential new opportunities to create value for our customers.
  • Review manufacturing processes with customers to identify areas of need/improvement.
  • Understand company performance, goals, and capacity to fill gaps where needed.
  • Attend and work at industry events and exhibitions to represent Tecomet and meet with customers.
  • Resolve technical issues with customers.
  • Expand legacy work with customers across all Tecomet sites.
  • Identify potential new products/capabilities that would enhance Tecomet’s position in the marketplace.
  • Interact with division staff to generate new leads, discuss opportunities, and help close sales.
  • Complete duties in Salesforce.com weekly which includes but is not limited to: Customer meeting notes, Opportunities, Lead follow-up, Quote follow-up, Market intelligence.
  • Participate in strategic and tactical commercial team meetings.
  • Participate in training activities which include meetings, reading, team discussions, seminars and corporate training.
  • Complete travel arrangements.
  • Utilize company resources efficiently and responsibly (money, time, tools, etc.).
  • Complete expense reports monthly.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • 5+ Years of experience in sales or account management within the defense manufacturing industry
  • Experience in managing strategic accounts and achieving sales targets focused on the aerospace and defense market
  • Experience in complex solution selling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience establishing relationships with key clients and a history of nurturing and expanding those relationships over time
  • Experience navigating complex negotiations to achieve favorable terms and agreements for both parties
