About the Role

The Storeroom Supervisor supervises and coordinates personnel activities related to ordering, receiving, handling, storing, inventorying, and issuing supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in storeroom areas. This role manages the layout of the storeroom and other parts storage areas, oversees the receipt of certain raw materials, and ensures records accuracy and compliance with established procedures. The supervisor also determines stock level adequacy and adjusts as needed, sources alternatives for unavailable parts, and supports plant maintenance outages.

Responsibilities

  • Develop systems and procedures for requisitioning raw materials.
  • Manage daily use of the inventory management system and physical inventory.
  • Oversee all receipts, issues, freight bills, and return goods memo processes.
  • Manage storeroom bin labeling, description changes, inventory relocation, and new setups.
  • Handle the physical receipt, unloading, and storage of certain bulk raw materials.
  • Supervise storeroom personnel and manage vendor communications for service calls, repairs, and material requests.
  • Manage inventory control cycle counts and storeroom requisitions.
  • Approve work schedules, evaluate duties, and manage expediting processes for returned materials.
  • Address issues, concerns, and complaints from storeroom personnel.
  • Conduct annual physical inventory counts and review for accuracy.
  • Achieve plant inventory metrics, including inventory turns, cost savings, and price avoidance.
  • Reduce lead times, enhance delivery performance, and ensure on-time shipments.
  • Ensure conformance to QMS and accuracy of information in BOMs, inventory work orders, and transactions.
  • Interact with customer service and production to address order status, scheduling, and product availability.
  • Follow Ardagh Metal Packaging Procurement Policy Standards and document inventory transaction policies.
  • Comply with Environmental and Food Safety standards within department responsibilities.
  • Perform "on-call" duty to support plant outages or equipment breakdowns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical-related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience with SAP is highly desired.

Skills

  • Effective written and oral communication at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to negotiate.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including data entry in PC-based inventory systems, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, and flexible under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Dependability, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
