Store Sales Manager

May provide support to stores in Gloucester, VA as needed.

About the role

As a Store Manager, you will lead Mattress Firm's vision, drive Company Initiatives, and achieve sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for executing in-store merchandising across multiple store units. You will lead selling programs, drive related KPI results, and support the omni-channel experience. This role ensures teams always prioritize the customer, creating a compelling and engaging environment for Mattress Firm team members. As an effective coach, you will develop associates' skills and performance, fostering a collaborative and motivated team dedicated to success.

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one meetings to understand your team's motivations and personal/professional aspirations.
• Develop a comprehensive team "bio book" that evolves with new insights and knowledge.
• Hold 30-60-90-day check-ins with new team members to discuss progress and opportunities.
• Manage workforce activities, including store staffing schedules, reconciling punches, and ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations.
• Maintain professional communication and represent the Company brand in all interactions.
• Follow Company procedures for product transfers to ensure proper inventory documentation.
• Analyze company-provided reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels and make adjustments as needed.
• Provide technical and product knowledge to associates and customers, serving as a subject matter expert.
• Identify skill gaps through reporting and address them through coaching.
• Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
• Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards.
• Partner with marketing to plan, implement, and monitor the store’s social media strategy to boost brand awareness and sales.
• Ensure timely opening and closing procedures.
• Manage stock inventory levels and review merchandise flow for accuracy.
• Follow all Company procedures on cash handling, payment acceptance, and deposit processes.
• Adhere to sales processing policies to ensure proper customer invoicing.
• Stand or sit for 8+ hours at a time.
• Execute company initiatives and other activities as requested by supervisors.
• Maintain awareness of competition, advertisements, and services offered, and develop counter-strategies.
• Conduct store-level inventory processes and research discrepancies.
• Partner with leadership and corporate teams as needed.
• Lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds.

Pay

Competitive pay range of $68,000 - $83,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available for eligible leadership and individual contributor roles at the Company's discretion.
