Store Sales Manager

About the role
As a Store Manager, you will lead Mattress Firm’s vision, drive Company Initiatives, and achieve sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for executing in-store merchandising across multiple store units. You will lead selling programs, drive KPI results, and support the omni-channel experience while ensuring teams prioritize customer-centricity and create an engaging environment for both customers and team members. As an effective coach, you will develop associates' skills and performance, fostering a collaborative and motivated team dedicated to success.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one meetings to understand team members' motivations, personal, and professional aspirations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive team "bio book" that evolves with new insights and knowledge.
- Hold 30-60-90-day check-ins with new team members to discuss progress and opportunities.
- Manage workforce activities, including staffing schedules, punch reconciliation, and adherence to company policies and state regulations.
- Ensure professional communication and representation of the Company brand in all interactions.
- Follow Company procedures for product transfers, inventory documentation, and cash handling.
- Analyze company-provided reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels and address skill gaps through coaching.
- Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
- Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and point-of-purchase (POP) standards.
- Partner with marketing to plan, implement, and monitor the store’s social media strategy to boost brand awareness and sales.
- Ensure timely opening and closing procedures and manage stock inventory levels.
- Review merchandise flow to ensure accurate stock and conduct store-level inventory processes.
- Maintain awareness of competition, advertisements, and services offered; develop strategies to counter.
- Partner with leadership and corporate teams as needed.
- Execute company initiatives and any other activities requested by the supervisor.
- Provide technical and product knowledge to associates and customers as a subject matter expert.
Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for 8+ hours at a time.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship; proof of eligibility required.

Pay
Competitive pay range of $70,000 - $86,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available for eligible leadership and individual contributor roles at the Company’s discretion.
