Store Room Controller

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Organize the storage area for spare parts and services inventory.
  • Properly label (bar code) and categorize all spare parts.
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventories weekly according to audit schedule and update inventory in KSoft.
  • Create new item numbers and adjust descriptions as needed.
  • Assist finance by receiving all applicable inventory, consignments, and services; accrue for all un-received goods/services at month end.
  • Eliminate excess inventory that is obsolete.
  • Receive material into the system (KSoft) and stock spare part items into their proper/most efficient location.
  • Physically receive all parts delivered. Verify against PO ordered parts for accuracy. Accurately enter receipts into KSoft, with scans of delivery documents (Docuware).
  • Accurately tag/stock inventory items. Notify the EE of requisitioned parts on arrival.
  • Keep hard copy files of all receiving documents.
  • Receive services and capital expense invoices from finance (KSoft/Docuware/hardcopy).
  • Control the process on which items are taken out of the storeroom especially consumables/manage inventory of vending machines.
  • Issue and retain files on all issued inventory in KSoft for all employees.
  • Develop demands for ordering of miscellaneous parts when needed.
  • Work with the Purchasing Manager and Buyer on predicting usage and stock accordingly for all special projects/downtime with consumable vendor.
  • Aid Production, Maintenance, and Contractors in locating parts within KSoft and storeroom.
  • Outside repairs of inventory, tools, radios, micrometres etc.
  • Aid with the creation of demands for repairs, packing slips for vendors and pickup requests.
  • Aid with inside repairs when applicable.
  • Create repair articles, return item to KSoft, tag and stock.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all inventory areas.
  • Operate multiple sizes of fork trucks depending on job.
  • Unload vans, flatbeds and containers in a timely and quality-minded manner as necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, stress, provide detailed work, sound reasoning, and meet required deadlines.
  • The ability to be flexible in duties, analytical, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to be exceptionally self-motivated and directed, organized, and a keen attention to detail.
  • The ability to work consistently on a concrete plant production floor and in multiple (hot, cold, dirty, etc.) environmental conditions.
  • Good vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • The ability to be available for on-call and periodic overtime.
  • The ability to frequently bend, lift (minimum 50 lbs unassisted), sit or stand for extended periods of time, kneel and move for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to have dexterity of hands and fingers to utilize appropriate equipment and tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous experience operating a Fork Truck preferred.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Sitting, climbing, lifting, push/pulling, dust mask, hard hat and high visibility vest required up to 1/3 of time.
  • Walking, reaching and bending frequently required 1/3 to ½ of time.
  • Seeing, hearing, standing, dexterity, written and verbal communication, ear plugs, safety glasses and safety footwear continuously required 2/3 or more of time.
