STORE MANAGER-WACO

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Store Manager to oversee daily operations at Pro Star Rental, ensuring safety, profitability, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will thrive in a self-directed environment, lead a team of at least five employees, and maintain high standards in equipment maintenance, staffing, and financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Manage a staff of at least five, including counter sales, mechanics, and CDL drivers
• Ensure safety practices are communicated and consistently followed
• Schedule employee work hours to maintain proper store coverage during operating hours
• Oversee equipment maintenance to ensure all items are in good working condition
• Set proper pricing for services and ensure fees are collected promptly
• Generate revenue and manage costs to maintain store profitability (P&L responsibility)
• Assist with securing equipment loads and making deliveries when necessary to support customer service
• Step in to help at the service level—both inside and outside the showroom—during high customer volume
• Rent equipment only to customers who are capable of safely transporting and operating it

Requirements

• Knowledge of construction equipment
• Prior experience in equipment rental (preferred)
• Ability to physically inspect the rental yard for maintenance needs and safety hazards
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Proven leadership ability with self-motivation and energy to manage employees
• Experience in hiring, firing, and leading multiple employees
• Some sales experience and strong phone skills
• Ability to secure equipment loads and make deliveries when needed
• Ability to establish and cultivate customer relationships
• Willingness to learn and use the company’s computer system

Qualifications

• Self-starter who thrives in a non-micro-managed environment
• Experience in operations management with P&L responsibility
• Heavy equipment experience (rental, sales, or operations)
• Strong understanding of employee management, including morale and individual needs
• Commitment to safety and customer capability in equipment use
