About the role
The Store Manager oversees all aspects of store operations, influencing guest satisfaction and driving sales through exceptional customer service and strategic management.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a multiunit store, ensuring prompt and courteous guest service.
- Support the shopping environment, promoting GameStop’s unique guest benefits and managing associates.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately, maintaining accurate records and reconciling daily transactions.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a retail staff, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure store cleanliness and organization, fulfilling Omni-Channel orders, and conducting inventory counts.
- Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention, reporting incidents and injuries promptly.
- Lead the store team in achieving sales and profit targets, adhering to GameStop policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of retail management experience required; 3 years preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Outgoing personality with strong people skills, clear verbal and written communication, and bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meet leadership performance expectations, and handle stress.
- Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills, ability to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) computer system, and proficiency in financial tasks.
