About the Role

A Store Manager for our NY Saks Concession Boutique. This leader will create and execute business strategies to develop the Concessions as a place for client engagement and connection, while embodying the Maison’s values. The position offers a base salary of $140K–$150K, based on candidate experience. Concession and luxury department experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Network Development and Brand Ambassador:
    • Maintain a strong front-of-house presence, ensuring excellent in-store experience and fostering a «couture service» mindset.
    • Drive the implementation of company strategies by coaching, motivating, and supporting the Valentino Concession team.
    • Act as a liaison between Valentino and Department Store leadership, ensuring clear communication of strategies.
    • Build and maintain relationships with the Department Store Stylist Club to drive brand recognition and revenue.
    • Partner with Department Store HR and the Valentino Training Team to ensure proper training for Saks employees selling Valentino products.
  • Business and Sales Performance:
    • Drive and maximize sales performance to achieve sales targets while ensuring operational integrity and monthly profitability.
    • Analyze and monitor store KPIs, devising and implementing action plans to meet and exceed targets.
    • Craft a comprehensive store strategy at the beginning of each year, revisiting it monthly/quarterly to align with commercial targets.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution of business plans.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance performance through strategic partnerships with corporate stakeholders.
    • Manage personnel expenses within budget and adhere to discounting policies to preserve brand integrity.
    • Partner with the Merchandising and Buying team to ensure relevant products are in-store to drive revenue.
    • Report weekly to the Valentino Leadership team on sales trends and pivot strategies to increase sales.
  • Team Leadership & Management:
    • Cultivate a motivating and inclusive environment that values diversity and fosters mutual respect and teamwork.
    • Demonstrate managerial courage by providing direct and actionable feedback.
    • Commit to the professional growth of each team member, preparing them for future advancements.
    • Ensure high standards of professionalism, from grooming to conduct.
    • Set SMART goals and optimize staffing schedules to maximize team performance and compliance with labor regulations.
    • Ensure proper and timely communication of company updates through morning briefings, product training, and CRM training.
    • Build the best team through talent retention, recruitment, and succession planning with HR support.
    • Oversee all recruiting activities in the store in partnership with HR and Talent Acquisition.
    • Plan, organize, and execute daily activities while maintaining a motivated, positive, and safe work environment.
    • Manage delicate personnel situations according to Company policies and employment laws.
    • Organize store meetings, morning briefs, and keep the team informed about performance and sales objectives.
    • Assign quantitative and qualitative objectives and ensure they are achieved.
  • CRM and Events Management:
    • Guarantee excellent client experience by monitoring sales activities and ensuring adherence to Valentino Client Journey standards.
    • Implement clienteling in-store to drive client engagement, recruitment, retention, and upgrading, with a focus on local domestic clients.
    • Maintain and develop external relations with prestigious clients and partners to promote brand loyalty.
    • Manage the client database, including client assignment and reassignment, and develop direct marketing actions for loyal and inactive clients.
    • Ensure the integration of digital tools and assets into the client journey and clienteling routine.
    • Transform customer interactions into meaningful relationships through a robust client development strategy.
  • Store Operations and Merchandise:
    • Stay informed on all operational policies and procedures to minimize loss and optimize store performance.
    • Execute operational tasks (including shipping/receiving) when an Ops HC is not present.
    • Assist in managing delicate situations regarding sales activities or after-sales (e.g., boutique returns, end-of-season, customer returns, repairs, complaints).
    • Ensure adherence to Company procedures for sales and after-sales processes.
    • Guarantee end-of-season returns, product transfers, and manage inventory activities.
    • Manage cash and payment systems according to Company procedures and policies.
    • Handle store accountancy and recurring audits.
    • Ensure administration procedures and timings are respected.
    • Maintain store furnishings, machinery, and tools to ensure efficiency.
    • Partner with the Merchandise team on seasonal buys and monitor product rotation to align with sales potential.
  • Visual Merchandising:
    • Liaise with the local Head Office Visual Merchandising team to receive and implement visual requirements.
    • Verify and report the effectiveness of visual criteria in terms of sales.
    • Ensure VM reflects strategy and verifies guidelines execution in-store.
    • Maintain order and cleanliness of windows and internal displays.
    • Partner with the Head Office/Regional VM team to maintain boutique visual standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Store Management or a leadership role.
  • Luxury department store management experience preferred but not required.
  • Proven track record in achieving results and team development.
  • Excellent knowledge of product and client journey.
  • Strong business acumen, with an understanding of store and team performance KPIs.
  • Proactive in identifying business opportunities and proposing action plans.
  • Positive and effective team management skills, with the ability to motivate teams.
  • Excellent organizational, follow-up, and time management skills.
  • Confidence and ability to develop relationships with clients, team members, and business stakeholders.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under strict deadlines.
  • Attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities.
  • Proficient in all store sales and operations systems.

Pay

Base salary of $140K–$150K, based on candidate experience.
