Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role is designed to develop external candidates for future store management positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training employees.
• Support store merchandising through staging, stocking, and pricing according to guidelines.
• Manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and conducting stock counts.
• Ensure product availability by following proper ordering practices.
• Lead customer service efforts and act as a role model by adhering to company policies.
• Participate in store opening/closing activities and ensure cash handling and security procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and operate the store in the manager's absence.
• Analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to identify trends and control expenses.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Strong math skills, including handling cash and inventory calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory practices, and safety policies.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving ability in a dynamic environment.
• Preferred: Bilingual Spanish speakers and retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience is advantageous.

Physical & Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Use of equipment such as scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise; occasional outdoor exposure.
