Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role is designed to develop external candidates for future store management positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training employees.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and display setup according to store standards.
• Support inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure in-stock levels meet targets through proper ordering practices.
• Deliver excellent customer service and uphold company policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities, cash handling, and security procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
• Operate store functions in the absence of the Store Manager and review sales data for business insights.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and timely.

Qualifications

Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures. Mathematical proficiency for calculations and cash handling. Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, and store safety practices.

Skills

• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred at some locations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience is a plus. Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 40-55 pounds, and occasional climbing or driving. Fast-paced environment with moderate noise and exposure to weather conditions, requiring some travel.
