Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in executing store operations, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This position serves as a development role for future store leadership, with responsibilities to assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training store personnel.
• Support merchandising efforts by staging, stocking, and pricing products according to standards.
• Help manage inventory through proper procedures, including damages, markdowns, and stock counts.
• Ensure product availability by following ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and adhering to company policies.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities, handle cash, and maintain store security.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
• Analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Complete necessary documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Strong mathematical skills and cash handling knowledge.
• Proficiency with inventory practices and merchandising.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to various situations.
• Preferred: Bilingual Spanish speakers; high school diploma or equivalent; retail experience.

Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Use of equipment like scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced setting with moderate noise, occasional outdoor exposure, and some travel with limited overnight stays.
