Store Manager Candidate

About the Role

This limited-term role supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. The candidate will foster staff development, ensure store cleanliness and safety, and manage store processes in the absence of the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training staff.
• Support merchandising activities, including stocking, staging, and pricing merchandise.
• Participate in inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and conducting inventories.
• Help meet in-stock targets by following ordering procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service and act as a role model by adhering to company policies.
• Assist in opening and closing store activities, ensuring security and financial integrity.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment.
• Review sales, labor, and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret safety and operational documents.
• Proficiency in basic math, cash handling, and register functions.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, and security policies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving abilities with limited standardization.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience is a plus.
• Preferred: Bilingual Spanish skills and retail experience.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Occasional use of ladders or driving.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise and exposure to outside weather.
• Some travel required.
