Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in executing store operations, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role serves as a developmental position for future Store Managers, with responsibilities focused on assisting in store processes, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring store profitability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Support merchandising activities, ensuring proper presentation and pricing of products.
• Participate in inventory management, including stocking, receiving, and conducting inventories.
• Help maintain store cleanliness, safety, and security standards.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a role model for employees.
• Assist with financial tasks such as cash handling, deposits, and reviewing sales and expense reports.
• Support store opening and closing procedures and ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) may be preferred depending on location.
• High school diploma or equivalent; retail experience preferred.

Requirements

Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds. Occasional climbing, driving, and exposure to outside weather conditions. The environment is fast-paced with moderate noise levels.
