About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations, focusing on employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role involves assisting with recruiting, store presentation, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The candidate acts as a temporary store leader in the manager's absence, helping to develop leadership skills for future store management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staffing, recruiting, and training employees.
• Support merchandise presentation, stocking, and store layout.
• Manage inventory, processing damages, markdowns, and conducting stock counts.
• Ensure in-stock levels meet targets through proper ordering.
• Provide excellent customer service and uphold store standards.
• Follow cash handling, security, and safety procedures.
• Participate in store opening/closing activities and financial controls.
• Monitor sales, expenses, and inventory trends, and complete necessary documentation.

Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 40-55 pounds, occasional climbing, and exposure to varying weather conditions in a fast-paced environment.
• Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience is advantageous.

Skills

• Strong reading, math, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Ability to learn POS systems and manage store operations.
• Effective problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred in some locations.
