Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This limited-term role prepares candidates for the Store Manager position, focusing on developing leadership skills and store processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training employees.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and presentation of products.
• Support inventory management, including damage control, markdowns, and inventory counts.
• Ensure store in-stock levels meet targets through proper ordering.
• Deliver excellent customer service and act as a role model for company policies.
• Help with store opening and closing, safety, cash handling, and security procedures.
• Monitor business trends via operating statements to identify opportunities for growth and cost control.
• Complete administrative tasks accurately and timely.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of retail experience is desirable.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Use of equipment such as scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced environment with exposure to outside weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Proficiency in basic math and cash handling procedures.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, and store security practices.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish may be preferred at some locations.
