Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role is intended to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training employees.
• Participate in store merchandising, stocking, and presentation according to company standards.
• Manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and conducting inventories.
• Ensure product availability by following proper ordering procedures.
• Lead customer service efforts and act as a store role model by adhering to company policies.
• Support store opening and closing activities, safekeeping of funds, and cash handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment for customers and staff.
• Operate the store in the absence of the Store Manager and review financial statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
• Understanding of recruiting, interviewing, and legal compliance.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred bilingual Spanish skills; high school diploma or equivalent; retail experience is advantageous.

Physical & Work Conditions

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and handling merchandise; lifting up to 55 pounds; occasional climbing and driving. Fast-paced environment with moderate noise and exposure to weather conditions may occur. Some travel required. This position emphasizes customer focus, teamwork, and adherence to safety and security protocols.
