Store Manager Candidate

About the role

Supports store operations by assisting the Store Manager in employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, customer service, and store maintenance. Acts as a temporary leader to develop external candidates for the Store Manager role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment, staffing, and training of store team members.
• Participate in merchandise staging, stocking, and presentation according to store standards.
• Manage inventory processes, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure in-stock targets through proper ordering practices.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a role model for store policies and procedures.
• Support store opening/closing activities and safeguard company funds.
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and security; operate in the manager's absence.
• Analyze sales, labor, profitability, and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all store documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret operational documents, perform math calculations, and handle cash procedures.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, safety, and security policies.
• Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish; high school diploma or equivalent; retail experience.

Skills

• Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Physical & Working Conditions: Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 55 pounds, and occasional outdoor exposure. Some travel required to support store operations.
