About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations, focusing on employee supervision, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service. This limited-term role prepares candidates for a Store Manager position by providing hands-on experience in daily store functions and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training staff members.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and presentation of merchandise according to store standards.
• Manage inventory processes, including damages, markdowns, and stock counts.
• Ensure product availability by following ordering practices.
• Deliver excellent customer service and act as a role model for store policies and procedures.
• Support store opening and closing activities, cash handling, and security protocols.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and operate the store in the manager's absence.
• Analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to identify trends and control expenses.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, merchandising, and safety procedures.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving ability and adaptability to varied situations.
• Preferred bilingual skills (Spanish).

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience is advantageous.

Working Conditions

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds. Occasional climbing, driving, and exposure to outside weather. Fast-paced environment requiring attention to safety and customer needs.
