Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role serves as a developmental position for future store management, focusing on implementing store processes and ensuring adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training staff.
• Support merchandising efforts, including stocking, staging, and pricing merchandise.
• Manage inventory through proper procedures, including damages, markdowns, and audits.
• Ensure in-stock levels meet targets and provide excellent customer service.
• Follow cash handling, security, and safety protocols to protect store assets.
• Support store opening and closing activities, monitor sales and expenses, and prepare reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment for customers and employees.
• Operate store functions in the absence of the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Strong mathematical, cash handling, and inventory management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Problem-solving abilities in dynamic situations.
• Preference for bilingual Spanish speakers at some locations.

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience, especially one year, is advantageous.

Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Use of equipment such as scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced environment with occasional outdoor exposure and travel.
