Store Manager Candidate

About the role

This position supports the Store Manager in implementing store operations, supervising staff, managing inventory, merchandising, and ensuring customer satisfaction. It serves as a developmental role for candidates aspiring to become Store Managers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training employees.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and store presentation.
• Manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure proper cash handling, cash register operations, and financial integrity.
• Contribute to store cleanliness, safety, and a secure environment.
• Support store opening/closing activities and operate the store in the manager's absence.
• Review sales and expense data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Proficiency in basic math, cash handling, and POS systems.
• Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and safety policies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving ability and adaptability in various situations.
• Preferred: Bilingual Spanish skills and retail experience.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience is advantageous.

Physical & Work Environment

Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 40-55 pounds, and occasional use of ladders or driving. Fast-paced setting with moderate noise and exposure to weather conditions; some travel required.
