About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations, focusing on employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, customer service, and store safety. This role is designed to develop external candidates for future Store Manager positions, serving as a temporary stepping stone.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Participate in merchandise staging, stocking, and presentation following company standards.
• Manage inventory processes, including damages, markdowns, and inventory counts.
• Ensure product availability through proper ordering practices.
• Lead customer service initiatives and act as a role model for store policies and procedures.
• Support store opening and closing activities, cash handling, and security procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
• Operate store in the absence of the Store Manager, review financial statements, and complete required documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to varied situations.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience, especially external candidates, is advantageous.

Skills

• Preferred bilingual skills in some locations.

Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Occasional climbing and driving for store operations.
• Fast-paced setting with variable weather exposure.
