Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role prepares candidates for future store management responsibilities and involves participating in store opening and closing activities, maintaining store cleanliness and safety, and ensuring financial integrity through cash handling and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Support merchandising efforts, stocking, and presentation of products.
• Participate in inventory management, including ordering, damages, markdowns, and audits.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a role model for store policies and procedures.
• Help manage store finances, cash control, and safety protocols.
• Review operational data to identify business trends and control expenses.
• Complete necessary documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience advantageous.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret documents, perform basic math, and learn cash register functions.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, cash handling, and safety procedures.
• Ability to solve problems and handle diverse situations.
• Preference for bilingual Spanish speakers at certain locations.

Working Conditions

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Use of equipment like scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise; occasional exposure to weather conditions.
• Some travel required for banking, meetings, and store visits.
