Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This limited-term position develops external candidates for future Store Managers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment, staffing, and training of store personnel.
• Support merchandising efforts, including stocking, signage, and pricing.
• Help manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure excellent customer service and store cleanliness.
• Participate in opening, closing, and cash handling procedures.
• Monitor store financials by reviewing sales, expenses, and inventory trends.
• Maintain compliance with security, safety, and company policies.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience preferred; strong organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, cash handling, and safety procedures.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred depending on location.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 55 pounds, standing, and climbing as needed.
• Demonstrates leadership, collaboration, customer focus, and adherence to policies.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with frequent standing, walking, bending, and handling merchandise.
• May require travel for store visits and meetings.
