Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in executing store operations, employee supervision, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role is designed for developing external candidates for the Store Manager position, held for a limited period.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Participate in merchandise staging, stocking, and presentation according to store standards.
• Manage inventory processes, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure high-quality customer service and safe shopping environment.
• Support store opening and closing activities, cash handling, and financial controls.
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and security protocols.
• Analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all store documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret safety and operational documents.
• Strong math skills and cash handling knowledge.
• Familiarity with inventory, merchandising, and security procedures.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving abilities in diverse situations.
• Preferred bilingual Spanish skills at certain locations.

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of retail experience is advantageous.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Use of equipment such as scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced environment with exposure to weather conditions and moderate noise.
• Occasional travel for store visits and banking.
