Store Manager Candidate

About the role

Assist in daily store operations by supporting recruitment, merchandising, inventory management, customer service, and store maintenance. This role serves as a developing candidate for the Store Manager position, gaining experience in supervising staff, ensuring store safety, and managing cash and inventory controls.

Responsibilities

• Support staffing, recruitment, and training efforts.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and presentation of products.
• Assist with inventory procedures, damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure excellent customer service and adherence to company policies.
• Handle store opening and closing activities, cash deposits, and security protocols.
• Monitor store financials, sales trends, and operational compliance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
• Operate store functions in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of retail experience is advantageous.

Skills

• Ability to interpret safety and operational documents.
• Mathematical skills including calculations and cash handling.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, and security procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Problem-solving abilities for various store situations.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred depending on location.

Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Use of equipment such as scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced environment with variable weather exposure.
• Occasional travel for store visits and meetings.
