Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role fosters development of external candidates for the Store Manager position during a limited period.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training employees.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and store presentation.
• Support inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and stock counts.
• Ensure product availability and proper stock levels.
• Deliver excellent customer service and act as a role model for company policies.
• Manage store opening and closing activities, cash handling, and security procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
• Operate the store in the absence of the manager and review financial and operational reports for trends and opportunities.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Proficiency in math, cash handling, and inventory practices.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, and security policies.
• Experience in retail preferred; high school diploma or equivalent recommended.
• Additional skills include team leadership, legal compliance, and bilingual ability (preferred in some locations).

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Occasional ladder use, driving, and exposure to outside weather.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels.
