Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role develops external candidates for the Store Manager position, serving as a temporary stepping stone.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and staff development.
• Support store merchandising, stocking, and presentation according to company standards.
• Manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure excellent customer service and store safety.
• Participate in opening and closing store activities, handle cash and security procedures.
• Monitor sales, expenses, and inventory trends to optimize store performance.
• Complete necessary documentation timely and accurately.
• Operate the store in the absence of the store manager.

Qualifications

• Strong reading, math, and cash handling skills.
• Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, and safety protocols.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Prior retail experience and a high school diploma are preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish skills may be advantageous.

Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Occasional ladder use, driving, and exposure to weather conditions.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise and some travel required.
