Store Manager Candidate

About the role

This position supports the Store Manager in various store operations, including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. It serves as a developmental role for candidates aspiring to become Store Managers.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and store presentation.
• Manage inventory processes, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure in-stock levels meet or exceed targets through proper ordering.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a role model for store policies.
• Support store opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and financial integrity.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
• Review sales and operational data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to varied situations.
• Preferred: Bilingual skills and retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience advantageous.
• The role involves frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 40‑55 pounds, and occasional use of ladders and driving.
• It demands a fast‑paced environment with some travel and limited overnight stays.
