About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations, focusing on employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role prepares candidates for future store management by fostering external candidate development within a limited period.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and presentation of products.
• Manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
• Ensure proper cash handling, cashier accountability, and store security.
• Support store cleanliness, safety, and operational procedures.
• Monitor sales, expenses, and business trends through operating statements.
• Handle store opening, closing, and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail experience, especially in inventory and customer service.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of cash handling, merchandising, safety policies, and legal compliance.
• Ability to interpret documents and perform mathematical calculations.
• Preferred bilingual skills in Spanish at some locations.

Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Use of equipment like scanners, carts, and ladders.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise and occasional outdoor exposure.
• Some travel required for banking and management activities.
