Store Manager Candidate

About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role is designed to develop external candidates for future Store Manager positions. The role involves frequent movement, handling merchandise, operating equipment, and occasional outdoor or driving activities, all within a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training staff.
• Participate in merchandising, stocking, and presentation of products.
• Support inventory control, including damages, markdowns, and stock replenishment.
• Ensure proper cash handling, cashier accountability, and store security.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized store environment.
• Review sales and operational data to identify business trends and opportunities.
• Participate in store opening and closing procedures.
• Contribute to achieving in-stock targets and financial integrity.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong reading, math, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Preferred high school diploma; retail experience is advantageous.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 55 pounds, standing, and walking frequently.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred depending on location.
