About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, customer service, and store maintenance. This limited-term position prepares candidates for a full Store Manager role, emphasizing leadership development and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training employees.
• Facilitate merchandise staging, stocking, and presentation according to store standards.
• Support inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and inventory counts.
• Help ensure product availability by following proper ordering practices.
• Provide exceptional customer service and act as a role model for store policies and procedures.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities, cash handling, and security practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment.
• Review sales and operational data to identify business trends and opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to read and interpret operational documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred high school diploma and retail experience; bilingual skills may be advantageous.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 55 pounds, and occasional outdoor exposure.
• Must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment and travel as needed.
