About the role

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations, focusing on employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, customer service, and store safety. This role serves as a development pathway for future Store Managers, with responsibilities including recruiting, participating in merchandising activities, managing inventory and damages, ensuring product availability, and maintaining store cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist in staffing, recruitment, and training of store personnel.
• Support merchandising efforts by stocking and presenting products per company standards.
• Manage inventory, including damages, markdowns, and conducting audits.
• Ensure optimal stock levels and customer service excellence.
• Participate in store opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and financial controls.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and operate the store in the manager's absence.
• Review sales, expense, and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; retail experience preferred.

Skills

• Ability to interpret operational documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling, inventory, and merchandising practices.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Preference may be given to bilingual Spanish speakers.

Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 40-55 pounds, and occasional climbing. Fast-paced environment with exposure to outside weather conditions. Some travel required for bank deposits and management meetings.
