Store Manager, Boston - Diesel
About the role
Diesel is a leading pioneer in denim and casual fashion, known for moving outside and ahead of trends. As we continue to expand the brand with bold ambitions, opening new locations and building world-class teams, we are looking for a Store Manager to act as the business owner of store results. This role is accountable for delivering sales and profitability targets while bringing the brand's identity to life in every client interaction. The Store Manager leads all aspects of store performance: commercial results, client development, team leadership, visual and operational standards, and compliance with company policy and local labor law.
The Store Manager builds and develops a high-performing team, sets the service standard on the floor, and cultivates lasting client relationships that drive repeat business and local market presence. Success requires balancing entrepreneurial commercial judgment with disciplined execution of brand and corporate guidelines—acting as the primary link between the store and headquarters/regional partners in merchandising, HR, operations, and marketing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a full understanding of the business strategy and action to achieve sales and financial goals and targets.
- Build store strategy and annual action plan that indicates roadmap of expected sales and financial achievements.
- Communicate and track store sales and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing context and rationale for business sales results.
- Review store schedules weekly to ensure appropriate coverage and payroll management.
- Ensure the store achieves expense budgets through monitoring and controlling expense items.
- Review profit and loss reports monthly and develop action plans to address expense controls as needed.
- Participate in all aspects of store operations, including recruiting and training store associates, coordinating store logistics, and ensuring the store is fully operational.
- Foster an inspiring environment for engagement and learning that empowers people to realize their full potential.
- Responsible for recruitment, development, and performance management of the team.
- Ensure the store team is trained in all aspects of their job responsibilities and focused on business objectives and strategies.
- Train store staff in new and existing policies and procedures.
- Identify strengths and areas of development of store personnel.
- Ensure staff are trained in customer service standards to provide a stellar customer experience.
- Ensure clientele processes are held to a high standard within stores; lead and follow up on the clientele program.
- Ensure all sales professionals are developing and retaining long-term clients; develop and increase the existing customer database.
- Ensure CRM is delivered within company standards.
- Work with direct supervisor and the store team to resolve customer issues to the customers’ satisfaction.
- Maximize efficiency and protect business integrity by applying Store Operation policies and procedures.
- Ensure efficient management of staff floor coverage and high productivity by utilizing scheduling tools.
- Effectively manage store headcount and payroll budgets as provided by the company.
- Responsible for a well-maintained, clean, and organized store to support efficient operations and a comfortable shopping experience.
- Ensure accuracy in all POS transactions along with cash handling and banking procedures; train staff in handling POS transactions.
- Responsible for adhering to all banking and accounting policies.
- Lead and monitor store merchandise standards to ensure they align with the company’s direction.
- Conduct daily/weekly/monthly analysis of business and product reports to understand and react to business/merchandising changes.
- Manage slow seller/best seller collaboration with the company to emphasize commercial store needs.
- Partner with the visual associate to effectively manage merchandising for maximized sales.
- Ensure all visual standards/guidelines (criteria and quantities) are implemented effectively and product/display presentations are maintained per standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in retail management or a related role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience in retail, luxury retail, or a service-oriented organization preferred.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and early/late shifts as needed.
- Previous client book preferred.
- Financial management experience.

Pay
Salary range: $85,000–$90,000 per year.
