About the role
Responsible for managing store operations, including staffing, training, inventory, merchandising, customer service, and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and retain qualified employees, ensuring proper staffing and compliance with labor laws.
- Provide performance feedback, conduct evaluations, and address employee development needs.
- Oversee store opening and closing procedures, including personal participation at least twice weekly.
- Analyze operating statements to identify trends and control expenses, shrink, and errors.
- Manage inventory through ordering, cycle counts, and stock presentation according to company standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, prevent damages, and ensure merchandise presentation aligns with policies.
- Safeguard financial assets through cashier accountability, key control, and security procedures.
- Lead customer service efforts, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized store environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and proper documentation.
Requirements
- Ability to interpret operational documents, perform basic math, and handle cash procedures.
- Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, safety, and security practices.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Preferred high school diploma or equivalent and management experience in retail.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly, with occasional lifts up to 55 pounds, and perform physical tasks like bending, stooping, and climbing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise and occasional outdoor conditions.
