Store Manager

Training Process

During official training weeks, Managers in Training work alongside Training Managers to gain insight and best practices for managing a convenience store. In supervisory weeks (between training weeks), you’ll work a variety of shifts alongside team members, putting your leadership training into practice. After training, you’ll join our bench leadership team, filling in during absences until assigned to your own store.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm welcome and a smile to deliver exceptional customer service
• Assist the Store Manager in building and developing a strong store team through training, scheduling, and coaching
• Set clear and measurable goals, hold yourself and others accountable, and communicate frequently and effectively
• Monitor product levels on the sales floor, rotate stock, and ensure the store is 100% in-stock at all times
• Oversee quality control, merchandising, and food safety programs in locations offering hot food
• Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the store, including the coffee station, food service area, and bathrooms
• Operate the cash register efficiently
• Delegate and complete tasks as necessary to ensure store operations run smoothly
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or District Manager

Requirements

• Minimum education: High School diploma or GED
• Preferred: 1 year of retail or food experience
• Preferred: 1 year in retail, guest service, or restaurant leadership
• ServSafe/Food Safety certification is a plus but not mandatory
• Comfortable interacting with guests and team members
• High energy and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented with a willingness to go the extra mile
• Basic computer skills

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring a variety of hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Turkey Hill locations may operate 24 hours depending on the store.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours a day
• Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, grasp, and grip
• Ability to work in cooler environments (cold temperatures)
• Moderate noise level in the work environment
• Specialized attire required in food establishments (e.g., hats, visors, gloves provided)

Travel: Up to 5%. Ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently (where applicable) and have your own vehicle to do so.
