About the Role
Responsible for managing store operations, staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations. Ensures effective planning and implementation of processes such as ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and sales. Maintains inventory accuracy, controls expenses, and upholds store safety and security standards.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees in compliance with labor laws and policies.
- Provide employee training, conduct evaluations, and address performance gaps.
- Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement opportunities.
- Communicate expectations regarding performance, conduct, and safety.
- Open and close the store regularly, ensuring proper staffing and operational procedures.
- Analyze financial statements to identify business trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage inventory levels through ordering, cycle counts, and stock replenishment.
- Ensure merchandise presentation aligns with company standards, including signage and pricing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Uphold cash handling procedures, security practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Deliver excellent customer service and address customer needs effectively.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
Requirements
- Ability to interpret operational documents, safety rules, and procedures.
- Mathematical proficiency for calculations and reporting.
- Knowledge of cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and employee counseling.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Problem-solving ability in varied situations.
- Bilingual skills may be preferred depending on location.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Management experience in retail is advantageous.
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
- Use of merchandising tools and equipment.
- Occasional climbing and outside weather exposure.
- Fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels.
