About the role
As Store Manager you are responsible for overseeing sales, human resources, inventory control, merchandising, providing outstanding client service, and maximizing profits by controlling expenses. You are held directly accountable for your store’s financial results and are responsible for recruiting, staffing, and developing all employees.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with customers, peers, and the management team.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients (in-person, phone, email, written) using proper etiquette and a global perspective.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships; train staff in product knowledge, clienteling, and relationship selling skills.
- Promote and support the company’s customer loyalty programs.
- Lead and develop a professional store team to maintain positive employee relations.
- Provide ongoing, specific, and immediate coaching and feedback through monthly touch bases, store meetings, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans.
- Motivate the sales team daily, weekly, and monthly to meet sales goals using monthly touch bases, store meetings, product knowledge materials, and scheduled selling floor time.
- Ensure all store staff complies with company initiatives.
- Recruit, hire, and develop top sales and management professionals; maintain an active networking group and staffing levels according to store headcount.
- Develop staff for internal succession planning.
- Resolve client issues and requests efficiently and quickly.
- Maintain a high level of quality in work, attendance, and appearance.
- Solve problems methodically and with urgency; collaborate with supervisors, human resources, and other corporate partners.
- Develop a strategic plan to achieve store business goals, setting daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals for the store and sales team.
- Coach and develop staff to exceed individual and store goals.
- Communicate and promote programs, marketing tools, and events aimed at increasing business.
- Utilize and maintain the client database for phone calls, appointments, and events.
- Engage in community outreach projects in the local marketplace.
- Understand and align with the company’s business strategies and direction.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities in a timely manner.
- Achieve and exceed all financial and operational objectives related to expense control, loss prevention, audits, payroll, and weekly reports.
- Maximize store profits through effective inventory management.
- Prepare, coordinate, and ensure accurate physical inventory per company guidelines.
- Identify and communicate merchandise assortment opportunities and issues to the merchant team.
- Execute and maintain visual merchandising standards consistent with company brand standards and directives.
- Ensure accuracy of in-store promotions and merchandise markdowns.
- Complete new hire and separation paperwork accurately and promptly per company procedures.
- Maintain efficient and accurate backroom operations, including stockroom organization and shipping/receiving.
- Understand and use all reports and reporting procedures, including profit and loss statements.
- Ensure accuracy of all POS procedures and train staff on the POS system.
- Open and close the store according to company standards.
- Prepare, schedule, and facilitate required store meetings.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Ensure store and staff safety.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to timekeeping procedures and local, state, and federal laws.
Additional Responsibilities

- Travel less than 20% as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly manage store staff, providing coaching, direction, and empowerment.
- Ensure workflow and processes are optimized for business efficiency.
Organizational Relationships
Interact with all levels throughout the organization, including employees and outside vendors.
Requirements
- 7+ years of retail management experience.
- Luxury retail experience preferred.
- Retail operations knowledge, including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, profit and loss statements, and inventory management.
- Fundamental human resources experience in staffing, coaching, counseling, training, and development.
- Proficiency in computer skills: Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and POS systems.
- Ability to work varied hours, including nights, days, and weekends, to support business needs.

Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, and squatting for the majority of the work shift.
- Ability to climb ladders or stairs (depending on store design).
- Required to carry garments and packaging up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation and reports.
