Store Manager

About the Role

Responsible for managing store operations, including staff recruitment, training, performance evaluation, inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. Ensures proper staffing, adheres to safety and security policies, and maintains a clean, organized, and secure environment. Analyzes business trends, manages inventory levels, and controls expenses to meet sales and profitability targets.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, train, and retain qualified employees in compliance with laws and policies.
• Conduct performance reviews, recommend pay raises, and address employee issues.
• Oversee daily store opening and closing procedures.
• Analyze financial statements to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and merchandising to ensure product availability and presentation standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, control damages, and enforce cash handling and security procedures.
• Lead customer service efforts, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and adherence to company policies.
• Complete required documentation and ensure team compliance with operational procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Strong mathematical and cash handling skills.
• Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and security practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, and employee development.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Problem-solving abilities for limited standardization situations.
• Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish) speakers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Management experience in retail is advantageous.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Occasional climbing and outdoor exposure.
• Fast-paced environment with moderate noise.
• Must have reliable transportation for store-related travel.
